Ingredients

Can you also open the capsules and just take the contents?

Even if you don't like swallowing capsules, you should still consider opening them. This is because the capsule is not only used to package the active ingredient and make dosing easier, but it also has a protective function. The active ingredient is not directly decomposed by the stomach acid, but released in the intestine, where it can be absorbed by the body. In addition, we recommend taking it in capsule form for taste reasons.

Do the products contain additives or fillers?

We avoid additives and fillers as far as possible, because it is important for us to provide you with a maximum of the pure active ingredient or the pure combination of active ingredients within the framework of the reference values for daily intake (nutrient reference values) according to the Food Information Regulation. In a few products, neutral and completely harmless rice flour is used. This is noted accordingly in the list of ingredients. As a matter of principle, we do not add any sweeteners or sugar. We also do not use titanium dioxide, as this filler contains nanoparticles that can be deposited in the body and whose potential danger cannot yet be assessed.

Natural versus synthetic ingredients - which is better?

We know that the absorption of micronutrients works particularly well through a healthy, balanced diet. The reason for this is the perfect combination of vitamins, minerals and, above all, secondary plant substances in a natural product. Studies show, for example, that for certain micronutrients, the natural variants can be absorbed much better by the body. A Japanese study, for example, was able to prove that the body assimilates vitamin C from acerola juice more effectively and excretes it much more slowly than artificially produced ascorbic acid. The scientists suspect that the combination with secondary plant substances is the cause of this. Synthetic ingredients can have the advantage that they can be added in much higher concentrated doses.

What are bioactive micronutrients?

Bioactive micronutrients are all vitamins, minerals and secondary plant substances that are essential for numerous metabolic processes in the body. They cannot be synthesized by the body, or only in insufficient quantities, and must therefore be ingested with food.

What are the capsule shells made of?

Our capsule shells are made from hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC), a cellulose compound derived from wood. It is therefore 100% vegetable and vegan.

What are vitamins and minerals?

Vitamins are organic compounds that the body needs in sufficient quantities to carry out metabolic processes. Among other things, they support the proper functioning of the immune system, the development of bones and muscles, the nervous system and cell division. A distinction is made between fat-soluble vitamins (for example, vitamin A) and water-soluble vitamins (for example, vitamin C). The metabolism of fat-soluble vitamins takes place with the participation of fats, which at best are ingested at the same time as food. Minerals are inorganic compounds that are also involved in metabolism. Minerals that are only needed in very small quantities are called trace elements (for example, iron, iodine, selenium). Vitamins and minerals are contained in plant and animal foods and enter the body through food intake.

Where do the ingredients come from?

Our ingredients come from Europe as far as possible. Certain plants, such as acerola, are not native to Europe and do not grow here. Therefore, they come directly from the respective countries of origin. We can fully trace the origin of our ingredients and thus ensure the high quality of our products. The farms where these products are grown are strictly controlled.
